Guidelines for talk and poster preparation


Oral presentations

  • Presenters will have 12 minutes for their talks and discussion. The recommended duration for the talk is 10 minutes, leaving 2 minutes for questions. Participants are welcome to use the computer provided with software for showing slides in PPT, PPTX (Microsoft Office Powerpoint) and PDF formats. Participant should upload their files and/or test their presentations before the session, using USB drive.

  • While preparing, please be aware of the audience consisting of young researchers most probably not well familiar with the context of your research. Therefore, we strongly advise to include a brief introduction to your field of research.


Poster presentations

  • We recommend A1 size poster in portrait. Area for poster is about 1,5 meter in height and 1 meter in width. Organizers will provide participants with all the necessary equipment to hang the posters. Participants can put their posters up at the beginning of the day of their poster session or just before it.

  • For large format printing in Riga you can use the services of Copy Pro (Raina bulvaris 17, works 24/7  

  • The presenter is required to stand by the poster during the scheduled poster session to discuss and answer questions from attendees.

  • Presenters must remove their posters in the end of the conference day.

  • Posters not removed will be considered unwanted and will be discarded.
  • Conference organizers take no responsibility for posters left at the end of the day.

Evaluation criteria of oral and poster presentations

  • Logical flow of ideas and facts.

  • Message and findings are clear and understandable.

  • Research methodology is feasible and plausible.

  • Visual quality of presented work.

  • Use of English language.

  • Degree of innovation in the topic.

  • Answering the questions.

  • Contribution to the conference.
